Biography

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. My family always joked that I was raised in a “sports family.” My dad played baseball, my brother played basketball on the WNBA Houston Comet’s practice team and my grandfather was even drafted to the NFL. When I was not studying for school, I was at some sporting event.

At a young age, I became an overachiever. I was involved in every activity and club imaginable in middle school and high school, and held many positions including student life editor of the school newspaper, chaplain of the varsity cheerleading squad, parliamentarian of the art club, executive advisory officer of the concert choir and was a television anchor. This is where I discovered my passion. I would spend hours after school and in place of lunch editing videos and working on scripts for the next day.

When I attended Auburn University in Auburn, Ala. in August 2005, I was able to develop my passion even more. I got involved with the campus news station, Eagle Eye TV, and started to learn new techniques about filming, editing and production. I became a host for Eagle Eye TV in the fall of 2007, which broadcasted on campus as well as off campus on Channel 16.

At the same time I was becoming involved with Eagle Eye TV, I also applied for a hosting job with MtvU. Shortly after, I was contacted by their producers to host a music countdown show called “The Dean’s List.” I worked with producers by phone to write the script and then shot the video around Auburn University’s campus. The show aired online as well as on MtvU.

But it was when I started picking up sports stories for Eagle Eye TV, that I found my true calling. The two things I loved most combined into one. I started researching about college football and working with media relations to interview several NCAA players for the news. I even attended almost every Auburn baseball game in the spring just to shoot B-roll and to become more knowledgeable about the game. I watched press conferences with coaches, bought every sports magazine imaginable and devoted every chance I got to becoming familiar with the different sports.

During the fall semester, I plan on devoting most of my time to producing more sports stories for Eagle Eye TV, and completing the required coursework for graduation.

I am currently seeking a required internship for the spring semester. I would love to work in either television production or with public or media relations.

I will graduate from Auburn University after my spring internship in May 2009. I am excited about the next venture in my life and can not wait to see what God has in store for me.
